Founder / Photographer / Cinematographer
As I was growing up it seemed that I was always the family photographer. On vacations and around the house, I was always the one behind the camera. As a young adult I tried several different lines of employment, but never enjoyed any of my jobs as much as I did photography. I decided to try to make photography a career. I attended the New York Institute of Photography and earned a degree, and also attended Wynonna Institute in Chicago. Armed with my new knowledge and my passion I opened Loyd’s Photography in 1972. We have photographed and videotaped team sports, high school seniors, families, weddings, and many many more events throughout the years. I have photographed well over 3,000 weddings in my career and enjoyed being around people. In the 1980’s I decided to add video production to the services we offered. The company has survived in both the good and hard economic times of Houston. Since Aaron has been around photography all of his life, he rapidly became my right hand man. I have turned over the operation to Aaron so that I can enjoy my other passion for amateur astronomy. I will always be around for guidance and to mentor the new photographers coming through Loyd’s Photography.
